“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (v9). Jesus taught people what God is really like, correcting common and dangerous misunderstandings about God’s nature. God’s kingdom is the best thing we can imagine, and therefore we should pray, “Your kingdom come.” God loves us even more than we love our own children, and therefore we can ask for what we need in faith and confidence.
Finally, as the best Father, God is always faithful to give us Himself. Jesus reconciled us to the Father and then sent His Spirit so that we are never alone (v13).
