I Chronicles 22-23

“Then he called for Solomon his son and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel” (22:6).  God told King David that instead of building the Temple, he should prepare the way for his son Solomon to build it.  So David gathered timber, precious metals, and skilled workers and handed them over to Solomon (v5). “Arise and build the sanctuary of the LORD God” (v19).  Solomon stepped into a role and project prepared for him.

“Now set your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God …” (22:19). Solomon had no lack of materials or direction; like us, his challenge was to embrace God’s purposes with his whole heart and mind.
