“Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place-- the Most High, who is my refuge-- no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent” (v9). Evil cannot triumph over us when we are within “the shadow of the Almighty” (v1). The worst that the enemy throws at us - the “terrors of night,” the arrows in the daytime, attacks, sickness, conflict, and even death – cannot separate us from God’s presence. Jesus experienced all these things on our behalf, and so His victory will be ours one day, too.
As we hold fast to the Father in love, He promises to be with us in trouble (v15), and to show us His salvation (v16).
