“Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations” (v1). This psalm, attributed to Moses, reveals the “secret” of a wise and satisfying life (v12). When we recognize that life and death are in God’s hands, and our days on earth are short, we begin to “gain a heart of wisdom” (v12). Our self-importance shrinks in light of God’s long eternity (v2-4), yet we are comforted by the fact that He loves us and wants to live among us (v1). As sinful as we are, He even shares His glory with us (v16).
“Establish the work of our hands!” (v17). Our lives are significant because they are part of God’s great plan, “from everlasting to everlasting” (v2).
