“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!” (v1-2). The psalmist reminds us that there is great power in telling others – and reminding ourselves – of the wonderful things God has done. His “wondrous works” (v5) include leading Abraham’s descendants into the Promised Land, though “they were few in number … and sojourners in it” (v12), so that they could thrive there by obeying Him (v45).
Our tendency is to dwell on what we need and worry about the future. But when we speak of what God has already done, our worries are overcome by faith.
