“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved …” (v1-2). Paul told the Corinthians believers to stay grounded in the facts of the good news. Christ died for our sins, was buried, rose again, and appeared alive to hundreds of people (v3-8). Paul was committed to preaching this message to all peoples: in a certain place and time in history, God saved us through His beloved Son.
“So we preached and so you believed” (v11). Our faith is not in an idea, but in the true story of a Person - Jesus who died and is alive today.
