Isaiah 49-50

"It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob… I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth" (49:6).  Despite Israel’s unfaithfulness, God promised to send them the Savior, and not just to Israel, but to the world.  Through Christ, God fulfilled His promise to Abraham to make his descendants like the stars: “Lift up your eyes and see; they all gather, they come to you” (49:18).

“I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” (49:15-16).  No matter how much Israel (and everyone) rebelled, God’s love was greater.
