“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints…” (v18). Paul prayed that the Ephesian believers would see the vastness of God’s loving purposes for them. Before the foundation of the world, God already had a plan to redeem His people and unite all things in Christ (v4-10). No matter what happens on earth, the “greatness of His power” will accomplish this (v19).
Our daily obedience and struggles are not the end; God’s Spirit, alive in us even in times of trouble, encourages us to hold on until the day of our inheritance (v11-14).
