“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (v3-4). Our lives are the sum of many small and hidden choices; the proverbs urge us to pay attention. Adversity (trouble) will come, but when we are firmly rooted in Christ, even if we fall “seven times” we will get up again (v16). We won’t faint, because the source of our strength is God (v10).
“Get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house” (v27). Like the crops that sustain the farmer, the quality of our relationship with God will determine the health of everything else in our lives.
