Ephesians 5

“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true)” (v8-10).   Paul urges us to imitate God and “walk in love” (v1), being careful in our daily choices “because the days are evil” (v16).  We will have nothing to say to the world, no persuasive testimony, if our own lives are full of secrets and “the unfruitful works of darkness” (v11-14).
Instead, we are called to “try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord” (v10), letting His light shine on the details of our lives for our own good and for His glory.
