Deuteronomy 33

“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph!” (v29).  Israel was chosen to display the holy, merciful, powerful nature of God – the same God whose purpose was to save the world.  God’s tender love for Israel - “Yes, He loved His people, all His holy ones were in his hand” (v3) – showed the world the kind of relationship He wanted with all who would receive Him (John 1:12).

“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms” (v27).  Through Christ, we can all experience God as our “dwelling place,” our true home, and the security of His arms.
