Judges 10

“Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress" (v14).  In the times of the judges, the Israelites began to worship the idols of the pagan neighbors (v6), and they left the God of Abraham.  But the Baals and Ashtoreth could not rescue them from their enemies, just as the modern idols of sexuality, money, comfort and fame leave us empty and in bondage.  Finally, the Israelites cried out to the Lord (v15).

“I saved you out of their hand” (v12).  God frees us from the bondage of sin so that we can live with purpose, not returning to our idols but serving Him with all our hearts.
