Psalm 8

“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” (v9). The psalmist recognized the Creator’s majesty in the voices of babies as well as the brilliance of the stars and moon (v2-3). He saw that humans are God’s handiwork in a unique way: physically small and fragile, we are God’s image-bearers and crowned with “glory and honor.”  We carry the responsibility of being His stewards of “all sheep and oxen … the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea” (v7-8).
“How majestic is your name in all the earth!” (v1).  God’s name is glorified on earth when we treat each other, and His creation, as He would.
