Psalm 13

“How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?” (v2).  There is no easy answer to the question that many believers, like the psalmist, ask God: How long do I have to wait for You to answer my prayer?  Along with external enemies, the psalmist also struggled internally against anxious thoughts, temptations, doubts, and deep grief.  Only God could bring resolution: “Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death” (v3).

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation” (v5).  Our trust is in God’s unfailing love for us.  We know that all things will work out for our good (Romans 8).
