“Do not be in dread or afraid of them …God who goes before you will himself fight for you …you have seen how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way” (v31). Moses reminded the Israelites that their rebellion against God (which caused their parents to die in the desert) resulted from a lack of faith. They had experienced God’s deliverance over and over, but they didn’t believe He was good or powerful enough for the challenge of Canaan.
“God who goes before you will himself fight for you” (v31). If we truly believe God is on our side, fighting for us, we have strength to resist temptation and go where He leads.
