“It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you …” (v7-8). When the disciples wanted to know when God would “restore the kingdom to Israel” (v6), Jesus told them that they needed a change of perspective. The final end was only for God to know; meanwhile, they would receive supernatural power to accomplish the urgent task of being Jesus’ witnesses throughout the earth (v8).
“After he had given commands …” (v2). Jesus commanded us, the Church, not to worry about future things, but to witness to Him in word and deed until He returns.
