“Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common” (v32). Strikingly, one of the first marks of the Spirit-filled Christian community was the sharing of their possessions (Acts 2:44-45). Normally, we focus on caring for our families and securing the future, yet these believers were selling their properties and giving the money “to be distributed to each as any had need” (v35).
“They were all filled with Holy Spirit” (v31). When Jesus’ Spirit invades our lives, the way we handle our relationships, time, and especially money is transformed.
