“From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (v2). When the psalmist felt exhausted and hopeless, he confessed his weakness and looked up to the Rock, knowing God is the source of strength and safety. God is the “strong tower” we run to when chaos surrounds us (v3). God is the secure tent where we find our home, and the bird whose wings hide her children from the storm (v4).
“You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name” (v5). Our spiritual ancestors had faint hearts just like we do, and their strength was the Rock, the One who loves us.
