II Corinthians 8:10-24

“Your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness” (v14). Paul said that there was enough “abundance” within the family of God to supply everyone’s needs. The means to give may differ according to our life circumstances, but whether finances, time, or help, everyone can offer something; this is “fairness.” As it is written, "Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack" (v15).

Paul encouraged the Corinthians to give “according to what a person has” (v12), not out of pressure or competition, but following the example of our generous Savior.
