Men’s Basketball League

Men play on Monday night in the Gym from 7:00-9:00 pm. There are several leagues during the year.

Co-Ed Volleyball

Co-ed Volleyball is played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thursday nights is fun, recreational volleyball with a large ball. The volleyball recreational time is open to both men and women. Starts at 6:30 pm in the Gym.

Golf Tournament

A golf tournament is held once each year under the sponsorship of Men’s Ministries. These tournaments are open to men and women. The tournament has grown to over 100 participants. We play 18 holes, receive a cart, a great lunch, and a goody bag which contains various golfing items. Awards and prizes include cash, golf bags, golf clubs, etc. No one leaves disappointed. These tournaments are held at various golf courses around the Kansas City area.


TaeKwonDo is taught Thursday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm in the lower level for beginner, intermediate or advanced levels. Lynn Gant is the instructor. For more information, email Paul McGarvey or Chris Eichman or call Lynn at 816-763-0638 or 816-739-0790.

Open Gym Nights

Open Gym basketball nights are on Mondays from 7:00-8:30 pm when a league is not playing. Open Gym is held in the Gym.


Men’s and Co-ed softball teams play every spring as part of the Metro North Christian Softball League. These games are played at various churches throughout the Metro North area. Men’s games are played on Tuesday night and Co-ed are played on Thursday night.


Men’s Ministries sponsors a Spring Crappie Fishing Tournament. The tournament is held at Smithville Lake. There are a variety of trophies given out: Largest Crappie, Most Crappie, Least Crappie, and Heaviest Stringer (includes Bass, Catfish, etc). It is a lot of fun whether you fish from a boat or from the bank.
