“Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts” (3:7). God urged His people to stop their sorcery and adultery and to begin taking care of their workers, widows and orphans, and foreigners (3:5). He called them not to embrace an empty religion of ritual or national pride, but to a real repentance of the heart. He promised to send another “Elijah” to prepare the way for this great salvation (4:5).
“But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings” (4:2). God sent His Son to heal our soul-sickness and to revive our cold hearts with His Spirit.
