“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly” (3). Surrounded by societies that worshipped false, silent idols, the psalmist prayed “expectantly” to the living and holy God. He knew that God took sin seriously (4-6); no one could carelessly approach the divine throne. Yet God willingly opened the door to those who sought him, offering refuge, protection, and joy in his presence (11)

“But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple” (7). Because of God’s great love, we can confidently approach him with our needs and know that he hears us.
